Say hello to Jasmin Budden
Agency Director
Jasmin is a proud Wadjanbarra Yidinji woman, with familial ties back to Kuku Thaypan of Cape York Peninsula. Yidinji tribe is made up of 8 separate clans, with the Wadjanbarra clan being the custodians of the lush low-lying forests of the Atherton Tablelands. ‘Wadjan’ means forest, and ‘barra’ means people belonging to. Jasmin grew up camping, swimming and fishing in the surrounding forests – this is how she and her family connected to country.
Jasmin has spent the last 15 years working in various roles in the industry, but her love for design and storytelling has always been what drives her. She has a particular passion for working with not-for-profit clients who provide support to their communities. Having done this with PNG-based organisations for the last 7 years, she is looking forward to working with community based clients closer to home.
As a member of the Indigenous community, Jasmin feels it is time to share her knowledge and experience with others who are now entering the advertising industry. “I feel I’ve been very privileged with the opportunities that I’ve received over the years. I’ve had some amazing mentors who have guided me and taught me so much. I’m now looking forward to doing the same for other young First Nations creatives working in the industry and providing opportunities for the next generation.”
